Well, as it states in my profile I have a multitude of health problems but my lastest question is why am I getting all these fungal infections and why won't they go away with treatment and why do they keep recurring??? The first was athlete's foot, then oral thrush, now I have a huge blistering area that is peeling under my breast that goes down past my ribs on my stomach that feels like a burn and hurts really badly! But it never itched or anything.. So I am now using yet another fungal cream and I still have athlete's foot and I still have some weird symptoms that may still be oral thrush but they are different then before treatment, the remaining symptoms are white coated tongue and waking up with my lips glued together with this thick white paste.. ewww... so, also, is this still thrush? I have used 2 and a half tubes of over the counter cream on my feet, 2 weeks of oral antifungal mediction and a week of lozenges for the thrush, and just started using a prescribed antifungal cream for my new rash/blistered skin patch.. any idea what this could mean??

hey there. I dont know if this is the same thing, but i experienced something similar, i had fungul growing in the back of my throat, right behind my tonsils, the back wall of my throat and going down. It was very hard for the doctors to see it. I had went to the doctors on 2-3 different occasions because they kept missing at looking at what i was talking about and relating my problem to gerd. Finally i brought my own mirror and bright flashlight for the doctors to finally see, which they did finally and took some 3 different swabs and it came back positive for fungus. I know its very rare for my age to get this at 28yrs. I was told to take a hiv test because the doctors say its commomn in hiv patients to get this. I knew i was negative for that too, which it came back negative as well. Im still baffled how this fungus problem came about for myself. The symptoms where one of the worst things i have ever encountered in my throat. So different from a sore throat. The worst ever. It was very hard to swallow, especially food was very difficult to eat, the back of my throat felt really raw and i always had a blood taste in my mouth, i did spit up a little blood, too. My throat felt so misrable with other symptoms, too. I was given some antifungal pills at first which didnt clear it up, then i was given some antifungal syrup which i believe cleared this frustrating problem away. I feel much better now, i realized i had this problem in feb, 2009 and clearded away by mid april of 2009. I hope u get better n find out why u are feeling how u r feeling.

Well thanks for your input and I am glad you were persistent and got the treatment you needed! Good job there! And when I first had the thrush it was a burning sensation in my mouth and throat and I had a bad taste in my mouth and my taste was messed up,but none of the symptoms you identified, but I do know I had thrush,I am just confused if it still is because the symptoms r a little different.. but my main question too is if anyone knows what woould cause all these infections and resistence to treatment... thanks again for your reply!

oh, and Gemiinii, one reason you may have gotten it could be from antibiotic or steroid (like prednisone) use.. so if you were taking any medications like these right before you had this problem that could have been a cause for it... But I have questions myself so that's all I really know except I am pretty sure it is contagious so you could have contracted it from someone else maybe?.. but at least it's gone and hopefully won't come back! Smile
