Hello, i have had a history of depression and anxiety, i have been on zoloft but back in 2005. i have been lately feeling more and more like what i was back then. is it common for the same syptoms to reoccur? i mean, i was happy and know i feel like i am spiralling out of control again. my emotions are running my life. i can't help but feel like they were triggered by something, but my question is. i have been having headaches and chest pain that i did not have before. could it be due to these symptoms? would it be best to go back to the zoloft? Crying or Very sad

Recurring depression and anxiety ?
Go back to doctor before starting any medications on your own. have a good check up. You may be experiencing anxiety and depression symptoms but a doctor should be consulted because of the new symptoms. And, yes it could be just anxiety. try to pinpoint any stress related triggers in your life and practice relaxing. Remember, there is hope and you will get better.

I wouldnt
Even going to a doctor due to stress and anxiety should be your last resort.

I have known many people with similar problem, bipolar even. And everyone i know who went to a doctor for it ended up getting medicine that made it a whole lot worse.

I dont know much about your lifestyle, but a bunch of things to consider is
1) organization- being organized helps relieve a lot of stress, jot down notes for yourself or things you need to do/get done. It takes away the worry about remembering everything that you need to do.
2) financial position- this causes a lot of stress for people now a days especially
consider how you are spending money, is there anything you can do to save it? every little thing helps, recycling, turning off lights.
3) social life- what type of people surround you? try not to get involved in drama, and spend some time with good friends that you can talk too and have FUN.
4) Past times- try to weave something that is both fun and productive into your day, weather its an exercise routine, or painting. Picking up hobbies that help boost your self esteem also relieves stress.

Hope this helps.

about a doctor consultation
I had suggested seeing a doctor due to the "new" symptoms of headache and chest pain. remember, you do have a say-so in whether you want to take any prescribed medicine. We, as patients do have a major role in our care. Listen to your body. And, yes..sometimes, some of the medicines can make us feel worse. Find a doctor you trust or a therapist and tell them exactly how you feel. one step at a time.
