Q: Recurring Bladder Infections

During the last 2 years I have been getting bladder/urinary tract infections about every 3 months. I had a total hysterectomy in 2001 and wonder if this might have anything to do with that? Could it be because of my lack of hormones? Should I go see a urologist or is this just something I am going to have to live with? Before my first bladder infection 2 years ago, I hadn't had any trouble like this for 20 years or so. Thank you for any advice you can give.

Hey, i'm dealing with that too. I had a total vaginal hysterectomy 4 months ago. Now smelly dark urine. Are you using a hormone cream? I wonder if the stuff is causing bacteria to develop. Will ask Dr. and relay response.Sad

Recurring Bladder Infections
Hi New Mojo, I haven't had the problem with dark urine and I haven't been using a hormone cream. I did find some interesting articles on a link between post menopausal women and recurring urinary tract infections. I just got a prescription for Estradiol cream and am anxious to see if that will do the trick. If it doesn't and I get another UTI I am going to go to a Urogynocologist. Keep me posted as to what you find out. Thanks for your response.
