Beginning about nine months ago, I started to get rashes on my face the day I started my period. The rashes started out about the size of a dime. One on the side of my nose, one on my cheek, one on my eyelid (and therefore caused much swelling), one on my inner nostril, one on my upper lip (which would make it swell and eventually turn into a cold sore) and two on my tongue (VERY painful) and I noticed that I got only one random rash thing on my right hand in between my pointer and middle finger. The ones on my skin were always incredibly itchy. The ones on my tongue seemed to be white canker sores, but I don't really know for sure. All I know is that they were intensely painful. This happened three months in a row, with each month getting worse than the other. The second and third time it happened (I am currently a full-time college student) I saw my college heath center and they had no idea what it was. They just prescribed me anti-itch medications and hoped it wouldn't come back. The rashes took a couple months of break but then came back when I was home for the summer. I went to my gynecologist thinking he would know something since it was occurring every month the day my cycle started. Even he didn't know what was causing it or what it was. The only solution he had was for me to take birth control so that I wouldn't have a period, since that's when it was occurring. It's been about two months now since I started doing that and these entire two months my period has been light to regular, but hasn't completely stopped. I figured my period would eventually stop and these rashes would be out of my life. Two days ago I woke up and these rashes were on my face and tongue again. The ones on my actual skin aren't as bad, but the canker sores on my tongue are larger and have spread to my cheeks. I'm now left with an annoying two-month period and three canker sores about the size of a dime on my tongue/cheeks. If anyone could tell me if they have any idea as to what in the world is going on with my face I would greatly appreciate it!
