Hello Doctor,

My kid had bacterial meningitis when he was 3 months old. He was treated and completely cured. Is there any chance of it re occuring? What are the small symptoms which I should worry upon and take him to a doctor? I have not visited a neurologist since then but going for pediatric visits frequently. Now he is 5.

Please advise. Thanks.

Thnaks for using this forum...

If the child has no neurological deficits and was cured fully then a pediatrician is ok to follow up and you may see a neurologist in case he has some seizures,or difficulty in mentation means the intellect level less than a five year...

take care...
