I am suffering from severe rectal burning after passing stool on each visit for the whole rest of the day afterward. I am also using polyfax ointment as soon as I realize this awful situation is about to happen and I'm trying to find out if there is anything out there better than this. I also used petroleum jelly before passing stool which reduces irritation to bearable condition. Plz advice me.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. Get evaluated for any anal fissures. If ruled out then its likely IBS and needs diet lifestyle adjustments, less spices and less processed foods will help.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
