It is possible to develop a fissure-this is a crack in the skin that can open when stretched..Ususally comes on with a trauma to the area..I developed one from a fall from a horse when I was younger..Over time it healed but still opens time to time..I usually place antibiotic ointment on it and wear cotton underwear until it heals..
