my niece suffered a viral infection of her brain that caused swelling, and then after a course of anti viral medicine, she is now back at home with my sister, but she isn't as she was. She couldn't walk initially after the problem, but she is able to stand on her own now, so it looks like phsyically she is going to make a recovery, but the area I am most worried about is her speech. She is almost THREE years old, and before the illness, she could talk quite well, but after, when she wants to talk, it comes out as a grunting/growling noise that lasts for about 5 seconds or so. She can laugh okay, but the talking isn't there. Will this get better in time/have you seen incidences of this before? thanks in advance for any comments regarding this looking
