Hi!
I'm on my 2nd day of dark brown discharge. It has been 8 days since the last of my period. I had sex on the 4th day of my period, 9 days ago. He ejaculated on the outer lips of my vagina. Can I be pregnant or is something else wrong with my system? I am a recovering bulimic. Can it be a side effect?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Dark menstrual bleeding could also indicate chances of old blood, pregnancy, hormonal changes, infections, endometritis, ovarian cysts, use of any medications, cervical problems, hormonal derangements, ovulation bleed, etc. The exact cause can only be made out after careful evaluation. Consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination and further evaluation to look for the underlying cause for the abnormal bleeding that you describe. Treatment as indicated (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you control the bleeding/symptoms and regulate your periods. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle. If infective cause is detected, and if you are sexually active, get your partner also treated simultaneously, and avoid having intercourse while being on treatment to prevent chances of re-infection. Avoid vaginal douching, or use of harsh soap or perfumes in the area. Use loose cotton undergarments and avoid use of tight fitting clothes.
Take care.
