I had a dvt that resulted in a PE on feb 24th.I spent 10 days in the hospital.I left the hospital with my pt just above 3 but 3 days home it was below 1 and my dr put me on lovenox and raised my coumadin from 5mg to 15mg a day and 100mg of lovenox twice a day.I have been on this regimen for 9 days and my level never went above 1.3 then today it suddenly went to 1.8 great! but he is not testing my pt again till monday and this is only thursday. Should I not be monitored more closely right now, like having my pt tested every other day or so? I thought the dose I'm on seemed high and testing in 5 days from now seemed unsafe... would appreciate your opinion on this matter. My chest pains have also not subsided since returning home from the hospital and the dr diagnosed me with lupus as the cause of my dvt.
