There are many reasons for hair loss. These include: increased stress (both physical-illness or emotional), inadequate function of the thyroid gland, and sexual hormone imbalances. Being a vegetarian might not let you receive all the necessary minerals and amino acids that are produced only in animals.

In the end, physical traction of the hair when wearing pigtails might additionally damage the root of the hair so you might lose it more easily.
