hi im 20 years old and for about the past year ive had a reacurring uti it seems to be coming back nearly every 2-3weeks and ive had enough. ive been on i think im up to 4 different types of medications trying to get rid of the uti and they all at first seem to work then it just comes back pretty much as soon as i get off of the medication. my doctor sent me to have an ultrasound of my bladder and kidneys which came back normal he then sent me to a urogynaecologist he put a camera in my bladder to see if my bladder was inflamed but again it seemed all normal so i was given more drugs and told to start taking cranberry capsules. the urogynaecologist said that my infection may have been inbedded in the bladder wall meaning the very first infection never went away. please im almost up to the stage of begging if anybody has had a similar experience and managed to get rid of the infection for good or managed to find a way to make it bearable (if thats possible) please let me know. my symptoms include burning when i need to urinate, an odd tinkley feeling at i think its called the urethra(?), a constant leak into my underwear and just a general uncomfortable feeling which makes walking (for exmple) for a long time feel bad. please help me this has been goin on for a year now and it keeps coming back i just feel like breaking down )':

I had the same problem several months ago. Now I take cranberry pills everyday. That seems to help. I know a lot of people don't like cranberry juice so take the extract pills daily. Also what I did to help out with the burning when I pee (I am assuming you are female by your name) I used feminine hygiene wipes every time I go to the bathroom. If you are sexually active DO NOT USE LUBES. My doctor told me not to because it is a leading factor in women's UTI. Also clean yourself up after every time you do have sex because your fluids easily get in to your urinary tract. All together I would say stay away from sex until the infection is completely gone.
