As of right now, I have a slight touch of a bladder infection and this one is probably the 5th or 6th one this year. It's not as bad as the others have been but it's still pretty irratating and it's painful. It burns when I pee and I feel like I have to pee every few minutes but when I go to use the bathroom, it's hardly anything coming out and as I said, it's painful. It started yesterday morning around 8 or 9 and it hit me pretty hard. I was feeling fine then all of a sudden, wham. I started to chug down some cranberry and after a few hours.. it went away. Now this morning it's back and now I'm a tad bit itchy but I think that is from the irratation of having to go every 5 freaking minutes.

I don't know if the infection is from drinking too much caffiene or not but it's funny because I haven't been drinking hardly any soda. I'm thinking I should go to the doctor to get antibiotics but I really hate the process because they interfer with birthcontrol and I really don't want to mess up my cycle. Should I be worried about getting a bladder infection so much? Or are more women just more at risk for getting them? I might be going to pick up some AZO pills later. Those knock out the infection pretty quickly.

I think that you're actually talking about a UTI --- or urinary tract infection, which is made up of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. If you think you have a UTI, it is important to see your doctor. Your doctor can tell if you have a UTI by testing a sample of your urine. Treatment with medicines to kill the infection will make it better, often in one or two days.

Here's some helpful information about TMP Sulfa/Bactrim which is an antibiotic used to treat infections, such as digestive problems (diarrhea) and urinary tract infections.

AZO is only a temporary fix until you can see a doctor. It will not get rid of a UTI, antibiotics will.

Cranberry juice can help, only if it is unsweetened. Sweetened will make it worse.

Some women will experience bladder infections because of sex. Google it, you will see.
