i am 20 years old i had my first child 7 months ago i was on the depo shot immediately after (from aug-nov. 1st shot) during the duration of the first shot my period was heavy everyday for the ENTIRE time. when it came for shot 2 i did not go. after a month my period was regular(to me) 5 days not heavy not light slight cramping the usual. dec-feb my period was the same and right on time. as for this month ive had it twice both heavy last 7-10 days. i am currently starting again the 3rd time this month and am have excrutiating abdominal cramping rating it an 8 out of 10. i am also passing blood clots. i never have before and these just started at 12:13 am. the clots are abt the size of a golf ball or bigger and the toilet is full of blood with every urination. what could be causing this and is it at all normal?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Regular and normal periods could suggest return of your normal fertility/ovulation. If you have been sexually active without protection, chances of pregnancy are possible. The current symptoms of repeated heavy bleeding, passing of clots, moderate to severe abdominal pain/cramps, could be indicative of ongoing miscarriage. Do not ignore your symptoms. Visit your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough evaluation to look for the underlying cause. Ultrasound scan done will help to see if uterine cavity is empty or with products of conception. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you control the symptoms and regulate periods. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
