Q: Rattle in right lung

I have a rattle in my right lung without cough or cold symptoms. I am unable to clear it as it feels deep in my lung. It comes and goes. Sometimes when I feel it when I breathe I can just shift my body and it will go away. I used to get bronchitis alot when I was younger but have seem to have outgrown it in my adult hood. This feels very different. Like I said no cough, cold or mucus. Just feels like something is stuck down there that pops up once and a while and if I move or shift positions I can make it stop. It is more when I am lying down at night or sitting..I smoked for about a year when I was eighteen but quit. I am 33 years old.

Any Ideas?

I am not a doctor. I think you need to go see your own doctor and try to have him/her figure it out. If he/she can't figure it out, here's a list of possibilities to bring up with him/her -

Quick Differential -

Air or fluid around the lungs
Increased thickness of the chest wall
Over-inflation of a part of the lungs (emphysema can cause this)
Reduced airflow to part of the lungs
Pulmonary edema - unlikely
Sarcoidosis -
Tumor - any family history of cancer?
Chronic bronchitis
Emphysema
Interstitial lung disease
Foreign body obstruction of the airway

Good luck!
