Ok I have had a rash on my legs and torso for about 3 months now...I have taken allergy meds, cortizone and had a biopsy done...the biopsy said some sort of bite maybe. The doc has no answers and my skin will soon be gone. I had a cortizone shot that lasted 5 days and then right back again. I dont know if its allergies because last year when i moved to texas i had no issues. The rash gets worse ( itch wise ) at night and when I sweat. Is there anything I can take or do to stop this ? I have taken Benadryl, Zrtec, used cortizone cream and some other stuff I cant even remember now. What I have noticed is if I use a tea tree body wash it seems to help but not cure the issue. I have two dogs with the same condition and not even predisone is working. Its not fleas I am positive of this. I really need some help here.

Is it something you are ingesting, possibly something in the water?? I know you said your dogs have it as well.
You may need more cortisone shots or pills for a while to see if gets it under control. They have pills for the dogs as well. Steroid pills.

Sweating will make any rash worse.
What does the rash look like? Is your doctor planning any follow up testing?
Have the dogs been to the vet?

We have a pet forum on here if you'd like to post about your dogs condition on there, it's possible someone on there can give you a better answer.
Keep us posted..Smile

I wondered
I was wondering about the water as well but then I was thinking wouldnt others have the same issue ? Those that live in the house with me or in the neighborhood ? The dogs both take predisone which doesnt work for them and didnt work for me either. I am thinking it must be some kind of mite but I see no evidence of one in the house on the dogs or on me. The doctor is at a loss as well, I am thinking of asking him if there is a pill/medication that just kills parasites/unspecific ones. Thoughts ? Thanks for the help

What it looks like
Oops sorry forgot to put that in there:

On me it covers sporadically from my ankles to my chest..it looks like little red bumps, some of them almost like pimples. On the dogs it is covering their entire body....red raised bumps all chained together, some places with secondary infections ( They are dogs hard to stop them from itching ). The dogs take predisone and 9 benadryl a day 3 at a time 3 times a day.....this cant be allergies can it ??????

If it's in the water others may not be as sensitive as you and the dogs are.
As for mites they are so tiny that they can not be seen with the naked eye.
For example: dust mites, have you ever seen a commercial on dust mites? When they blow up the microscopic picture it's pretty nasty.
It might not hurt to ask the doctor about a pill for it.
Have you and the dogs gone swimming in any lakes or ponds, they might have something going on in that water? I know places close beaches and ponds due to contaminates during the summer until they get it cleared up.

Check with the vet as to what products are good for bombing the house for fleas and such. Many pet stores have products I know Riad sells some bombs to get rid of fleas and other bugs in homes.

Hope you get an answer soon for you and your 4 legged family members...Smile
