A rash on the genital skin as well as redness, blistering and itching are symptoms of condom (latex) allergy.
The most effective strategy in the treatment of latex allergy is avoidance.
People with this type of allergy should use non-latex condoms or polyurethane condoms.
Condoms with spermicide should be avoided, too.
It is good to know that certain fruits such as bananas, chestnuts, kiwi, avocado and tomato show cross-reactivity (people with latex allergy are most likely to develop allergic reaction to mentioned fruits), because of resemblance to a latex protein component.
Thrush cream may ease the itchiness, but, both inflammation and itchiness could be responsive to mild topical corticosteroids.
If the symptoms are bothersome, please ask your physician before applying any kind of cream at the genital area.
Corticosteroid cream should be used with precaution.
The best option will be use of some regular anti allergy medications, like Benadryl cream.
