Q: Rapid Weight Gain

Hey all, I know this really has no place in the abdominal pain section but I wasn't sure where else to put it. In 2007 I began gaining weight pretty rapidly w/o any drastic changes in my diet. We're talking that clothes I bought at the beginning of summer didn't fit by the end. I also found that it was much harder to lose the weight than it was in the past. In July of 2008, I ended up having my gallbladder removed. I thought that maybe that had something to do with the weight gain. However, I'm still having a really hard time losing any weight. I also tend to get very fatigued when I don't eat. I know that most people get tired when they're hungry but this seems more than normal. I can go from feeling fine to really wanting to lay down. Then, after I eat, I'm eventually ok again. So...does anybody have any ideas?!?!

Extremely eHealthy
Rapid weight gain and difficulties losing some, with feeling of excessive fatigue, are characteristic for hypothyroidism, or under active thyroid gland.
