User Profile
Now me and my husband have already decided to raise our kids Christian & Jewish. My religion is important me and his "jewish culture" is important to him. Bee is a humanistic Jew.

I just wanted to see the debate on this.

I see nothing wrong with it.In the end the child will make up there own mind.My mother was Church of Christ ,my father baptist,my best friend Catholic and another dear friend Mormon.I attended all of there churches and even many camps and study groups..after all that I am now proud to say that I am a Buddhist if I am anything at all..!
gosign We all follow our bliss if we are not too heavily indoctrinated..that can mess a kid up.Give the child choices and let them come to there own conclusion in due time. They will chooses what is best for them.

Where there is found peace and love, there is God. 4you peace earth pray

I didn't think that that was even possible.

How can one be jewish and christian?

Thats to say how can one say, I don't believe that christ was the messiah, and then say, I accept christ as the messiah and Im saved.

That going to be very interested when the child asks himself, wow, what in the blank is going on here?

How can I be both?

Unless of course, he is a non jewish jewish person who is a christ believing jewish person, who actually isn't a jewish person at all.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!

Whats wrong with educating a child on both religions and then allowing them to decide what direction they want to go when they are old enough?

How would you actually know if they were old enough though? Or prepared in any way to choose. Hardly anyone even is.

Who would be the one to educate them? Not the wrong person I would hope.

It's funny we say that, the way that we want to go.

No one should be allowed to go the way that they want. That obviously causes way to much trouble wouldn't you say.

You don't, but most religions have a time when structured religious teachings end. If I were a parent, I'd let my kid find their own way after that (obviously giving support, but not trying to sway them in any direction), but that's just me-- if I were in that situation.

I'm sure if both partners are that dedicated to their religion they would each have people who they would consider the "right" people to educate their child.

I disagree. I think it causes more trouble when people are more focused with there being only one way. I also think being educated on multiple religions would encourage a bit more tolerance and even respect.

No one should be forced into a religion that they don't believe in.

Usually people find themselves in these predicament is because their not following God's word. It's simple, He said, Do Not Be Unevenly Yoked. Problems will arise out of these indifference's. Although we're not left completely alone in these matters. The Christian wife is wise, will continue to respect her husband, but can seek God, asking Him to soften your husbands heart to the truth of this matter. Many couples have joined their faith in Christ when James 5:16b is applied. It's no big deal to bring your husband to the Truth so long as you trust in Him...maintaining your prayers concerning the issues until answered.

hi, WELL here's a idea; study history, physiology, creationism and evolution and SCIENCE but that mean u need to ACTUALLY learn and comprehend
I have my own test kit;
. . if u r member of WELL i can't write all those extra crazy animal loving, green loving, invisible god loving, global warming drivel loving etc.
even in Texas this year they don't put one single word anywhere that says jesus

Now what if the child decides against both religions
or what if the child decides against all religions
or what if the child choose a TOTALLY opposite religion; since jew/christian NOT MUCH DIFF

I like how people say that, invisible gods. That's hilarious, and it's so condescending, but it's so funny at the same time.

You and your invisible gods huh!? What a crazy world.

don't raise him with a religion at all, because if you raise him with two religions, he'll be a jew-hater and join Hezbllah(i'm not kidding).
i seriously don't want your son firing rockets at me LOL

One cannot be a christian jewish person in regards to religion.

If you programmed both into a robot it's head would obviously explode from the paradoxes.
