It has been raining in my area for nearly 40 hours. It has finally almost stopped. The town I work in is mostly underwater, thankfully where I live wasn't affected nearly as much. Below is a link to some pictures of what we are dealing with. The town was originally built inside of floodgates and had pumps to get rid of water in cases like these. But, with the every growing economy the floodgates have been removed from around the town to expand 2 lane highways into 4 lanes. Today the pump system stopped working, so they are unsure about how they are going to get the rest of the water out of the town. Our office closed 2 hours early yesterday, but we had to come to work today even though it was STILL raining this morning. What a bad judgement call.
