Hi I'm new to this forum and would like to ask about the quality of care through medicaid, maternity advantage, and possibly some other government assisted programs.
My fiancee and I are expecting and has just found out that the current insurance carrier, United Healthcare won't be renewing our insurance because my fiancee is pregnant. Because she is still in college and we are not married, she qualifies for medicaid, maternity advantage, and another program called Cover Colorado where we reside.
My fiancee is concerned about the quality of care through these programs and would like to ask others that have went through these programs for the quality of care. We have visited the Swedish hospital here in Denver and are very satisfied with their services here, but was wondering if you go through any of the government assisted programs, you will be going to a less quality hospital such as a community hospital to be covered under these programs
1. How is the care compared to if going to a private hospital and paying costs out of your own pocket than to a hospital that is covered under medicaid, maternity advantage, and etc?
This is my fiancee's first pregnancy and I want her to get the best care possible, but at the same time I want to save as much money now to be used after the pregnancy.
I currently reside in Denver, CO and would appreciate any insight. Thank you and have a nice day.
