He should get that checked out by a doctor or dermatologists. Misshapen moles can be a sign of skin cancer. I think the odd color could indicate the same.

May be nothing really or it could be a Melanoma. Particularly if it is changing in appearance or increasing in size OR there is an increase in the number of these lesions, In this case, would be safest to get it checked out
