Q: Pulsating in throat which makes me cough

Over the past week whenever I would eat soemthing straight after I would start coughing... it would slightly phlemy but over the past few days I have been getting a pulsating in my throat which would last all day(mainly up the top on my left side) it makes me want to cough, so I have got a constant annoying cough.
I'm a little worried.... the doc think reflux, but I have had reflux before and this is nothing like it.
Can someone help?
