ok heres my story. on march 6th, i had unprotected sex with someone, using the pull-out method ( i know, not very reliable.) I had had my last period around Feb 29th. Well, today is april 7th and im about a week late or so. I have taken SEVEN pregnancy tests wthin this week- the last one taken earlier tonight....ALL NEGATIVE. I'm usually pretty regular give or take a day or two, so im pretty scared. everyone is telling me it would have showed up on tests by now bc i would be over 4 weeks, almost 5 weeks pregnant and i have been using the tests that are most sensitive and following directions carefully. the only other factor i can think of is that i take Prozac and changed my dose, as well as skipped quite a few in the last month. could this affect my cycle? what do yall think? am i just stressing out and making this a big deal for no reason? i just dont know what to do anymore....im close to nervous breakdown dealing with the possibility of this. i am only 23 and the guy is not my boyfriend..and basically told me to abort if i was pregnant. im sorry this is so long, im just so stressed out about this.

your problem maybe the fact that you are stressing out, that can cause your period to be late. if you have taken 7 and all came back negative, you are most likely not pregnant, to ease your mind better you can go to the doctr and take a blood test.

when switching meds it can affect your periods.
You should go to your doctor and explain the whole situation, and they would probably do a blood test as well to see if you are pregnant. But like Coliejo said, you could just be stressing yourself out about this.
That guy sounds like an ass for saying that to you as well.
Also Prozac if you can believe it or not, is rat poison. I was on it for a while before too for depression, but felt it made me a zombie and i showed no emotion at all, so i got off it. There is a posibility that it affeted your cycle when changing dosage.

First of all, if you are pregnant, it is YOUR decision whether or not you want to keep the baby. Don't listen to that jerk telling you to abort, because it is not his decision. It is yours.

With that aside, unless if you ovulated late, you are probably not pregnant. A pregnancy test is pretty accurate by the time your missed period is. Medication changes can throw off your period, but by throwing off your period it may also throw off ovulation, so you never really know if you had sex while ovulating or not. It is a complicated situation. I'd either keep on waiting it out with fingers crossed taking occasional tests, or I'd go to your doctor and see if you can get a blood test done.

thank you all for the replies Smile i called my gynecologist's office today and they told me to wait on a blood test given everything i told them. they said that the combination of stress and the medication changes most likely affcted my cycle and that if i remain calm, my period should arrive within a few days, bc like i told them, i have every period symptom i normally do.

But, i did tell the guy involved that i was keeping it if i was pregnant and that i didnt want him involved in any part of it. to me, any jerk that is telling me to "kill it" doesnt have a right to be involved.

I guess all i can do is learn from this and probably vow never to have unprotected sex again hahaha, well unless i eventually am ready for a child. Smile
