Puffy Nipples

I first experienced this whole "puffy nipple" situation when i was around the age of 13. When i say "puffy nipple", i'm largely referring to the areola section. When i first noticed this problem, i could feel lumps beneath my nipples which i guessed were causing the puffiness. I am now 19 and since then, i'd say the lumps beneath my nipples have decreased in size, however my areolas still remain puffy and they seem to have gotten worse over the years. I'd say in general that my actual nipples are fairly large, but they are made to look even bigger by my puffy areolas. My left side is probably worse than my right. I'm just wondering if, of the people who also had this issue, how long did it last for and did it go away EVENTUALLY? Is this purely a puberty thing which i'll have to wait for it to settle down (despite already waiting 6 years!!)? How old were you when this problem finally went away?
