I have PSTD, it is because of physical and sexual abuse as a child. I am not sure what the PSTD is exactly. I don't think it is affecting me today. But when I was younger I use to suffer nightmares, and sleep paralysis. It was scary. I grew out of the nightmares and sleep paralysis. So I am better now.

Can anyone fill me in more as to what PSTD is exactly. My doctors have diagnosed me with PSTD.

I also have Borderline Personality, Bipolar, Obsessive / Compulsive Disorder, and Attention Deficit Disorder.

PSTD is the only one that I don't know much about.

Thanks,

it's called post-traumatic stress disorder. it's a mental condition that that can affect your life. My husband has it from being in Iraq. They diagnosed me with it because i lost my son. The symptoms vary with the person and with what happened to them. You can become abusive, or just be depressed. Nightmares and sleep disorders come along with it. Did you ever get any help? Something can trigger it at any given time, so, make sure that you can talk to someone. Hang in there

I think I might have PTSD, what kind of a doctor can confirm or deny my diagnosis? Where can I read more about this affliction?

A psychologist. Ask you PCP about it. also, look it up under post-traumatic stress disorder. It is hard to diagnose. You can be diagnosed with stressors and depression. But, you need to actually speak with a doctor. Good luck.
