Q: Pseudo-hypoglycaemia ?

Hi

I was looking for research on stress mediated hypoglycaemia, and came across an article talking about what they saw as an increasingly diagnosed condition of hypoglycaemia symptoms, without actual clinical hypoglycaemia. They didnt go into too much detail on the mechanism, other than that it was observed in those with histories of mental health problems and trauma disorders.

There is also a link between mental health issues and orthostatic intolerance and vasovagal syncope from things like injections.

Just wondered if anyone has had hypoglycaemia that cleared up on successful treatment of depression / anxiety, or has info on same?

I think it's all sugar, personally. I used to think certain things were in my head until I got better, and then I realized that it was seriously, no joke, all caused by my sugar levels. It's really amazing the effect this stuff has on the body as a whole. Plus, it makes me wonder how many sad folk are out there suffering and don't even know it. Like, take that medication Abilify that they're now prescribing if you're on anti-depressants but aren't seeing any results. One of the side effects is elevated blood sugar. Hmmm, I wonder why they're working...
