Hi.

I've always had irregular periods (every 2 mo., 1.5 months, 3 months, etc.)

When I went overseas in March 2009, my menstruation stopped. After 6 months of no period, my doctor decided to try the 'challenge' and prescribed provera.

However, a week before I was supposed to start the provera (for 10 days) my full period finally came.

Now my doctor still wants me to do the provera. . .I'm still on my period though, is this really necessary? I'm a little anxious about its side effects.

I've had a recent pap, pelvic exam, and blood tests--all of which are normal.
