I am on my 2nd day of taking Provera after the consultant prescribed it to my as I am having no periods after coming off the Depo injection 2 years ago. I am 20 years old, my periods were pretty much regular before taking Depo. I went to my Dr and he sent me for an internal examination, the results came back fine but the consultant believed I had PCOS. I am currently trying to conceive. My question being why has he prescribed me Provera? I am aware of what it does but I wont be having a "true" period and I will not ovulate, so what will this be proving, and why has he not prescribed me something like Clomid?

Many Thanks

i have d.u.b dysfunction uterine bleeding due to imbalance hormones.
does the doctor knows that your trying to conceive? maybe he's just trying to regulate your menstrual. I would call him and demand to get on clomid.
i just got off my first shot of the depo & decided not to continue it b/c of he side effects and my male doctor was persuading me to stay on it, and i told him no. he also tried to persuade me to get a uterine ablation. a procedure that will stop my irregular bleeding, but leave me barren.
i get on my doctors nerves b/c i dont take their words, i do my own research.
call your doctor and get on his nerves.
