I am a 57 year old male. I had 3 ventral hernias that needed surgery. On 9/27/09, I had "outpatient" surgery to repair the hernias. The surgery was laparoscopic and would take 2 or 3 hours, 1 hour or 2 in recovery, then go home.

After surgery I was sent to recovery and the next thing I remember was, I woke up in Intensive Care with Pneumonia, and stayed in the hospital for 6 days! Shocked

I am home now and have 2 areas on my stomach about the size of a golf ball that protrud outwards. The areas of protrusion are hard to the touch.

The doctor who performed the surgery claims those areas will disappear in a short amount of time.

Should I be concerned?

Thanks

I would say to trust your doctor...These are internal stitches so your swelling is also from within...Take it easy...Don't lift anything...If it gets worse then check on it...I have gone through a few of these with my husband....Please adhere to what they say about lifting...He didn't...Brought on another surgery because of it...Good luck...
