Q: Protection with Microgynon ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 9th, 2009
I have recently been given Micrgynon 30 instead of my usual ovranette, apparently these are the same pill. So i did have the 7 day break inbetween changing over, i'm not sure i'm right in doing so! even though i've read they contain the same ingredients. I didn't have sex until 12 days into taking the Microgynon, should i still be protected?

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Yes, both Micrgynon and Ovranette have the same ingredients. So if you took the Micrgynon pills after 7 days break from Ovranette you will continue to be protected. Also the pills provide protection from the first month itself.
Hope this helps. Take care!
