prostate cancer- today started passing blood in his urine?

my dad is 73 and was diagnosed with prostate cancer 7 months ago, a bone and ct scan showed the cancer had spread to his bones and kidney and was started on hormone treatment. the last 2 weeks he's had back pain and today started passing blood in his urine, my dads very laid back and want to wait till his appointment in 2 weeks to see his specialist but i want him to see someone straight away, could waiting another 2 weeks affect what happens
