My husband's test came positive for Chlamydia. He has had the infection some years ago and was seemingly effectively treated. He may have been reinfected or not completely cured. In any case he has had the infection for quite some time. My text came negative, although we have been together for 6 months, so I probably should be infected. I also have been using Epigen Intime--which may have suppressed the infection. Doctor in Georgia said we should both be treated with a regimen of Doxycycline for 14 days followed by azithromycine for another week. Argument is that in clinical practice infection that has been there for so long is not effectively cured with a single doze of azithromycine, or doxycycline alone. It may be the case that they use too much antibiotics in this country and people have become resistant. What would you recommend? Also is it possible that one of the tests were wrong?
