i am 40 years old male who was diagnosed to have dyslipidemia ,and hyperurecemia(s.uric acid8.7) 4 years ago when i had kidney stones.for last 3 months i was put on rosuvastatin 5 mg and clopidogeral for the treatment of my dyslipdemia.but on 1 sept 2009 i developed severe pain and swelling in my rightr metacarpophalyngeal joint(was diagnosed to have gout) ,for which my doctor plans to give me flubiprofen 200mg an nsaid ,which i have been taking for last three weeks now.acc. to my doctor he intends to give me the medicine for two and a half months continuously and will add on allopurinol along the way.
after three weeks of taking the Nsiads my pain has almost disappeared but swelling is still there and the movement at the joint is still not complete extention.wat i was worried that whether it is alright for a gout patient to take the medine pain killer for so long,i dont have any acidity prob.,and why is my swelling not going away completely and why has the movement not yet come back completely.whether the doctor is giving me the right treatment?
waitnig for a response desperately.

Make sure that you get tested for sleep apnea, and follow whatever therapy is recommended to overcome it. Sleep apnea can cause both gout and dyslipidemia, as well as many other life-threatening diseases. Overcoming the sleep apnea will probably reverse your hyperlipidemia and prevent future gout attacks. Your doc probably hasn't learned of this connection yet, so you may have to be insistent.
