Prolonged bleeding after intercourse can occur for several reasons, all of which need at least a vaginal examination. Trauma due to the intercourse is one of the reasons, but the bleeding should not have been so prolonged. If you took birth control pills (morning after pill, for example) you might have caused a hormonal imbalance, that affected the inner lining of the uterus and caused the bleeding.
