I am so thrilled at all your kind responses and prayers. The reason in now write this thread is too let you all know that once i had bloods taken and heart tracing along with new mri scan my surgeon found surgery was not a good idea..

The reason for this sudden change is due to the mri finding that my second prolapse has improved and my extensive pain is now caused by nerve damage.
Had he operated the pain i suffer at present 24/7 would increase and surgery would have been more severe on me as the nerves now badly need worked on.

Ive been advised to start on garpbentin to try heal the nerves but shall start in small doses until at each increase they will find a comfort level for me.
with the prolapse imrovement basically there was no prrolapse to operate on so with nerve damage things were best left alone as pain levels would have soared higher than they are now. These last 24 hrs have put me in so much pain any questions i shall answer..i had a few myself,, but thankyou for all or your kindness and being from uk you all make the distance betwwen us smaller..

Honey, rest....Take one day at a time...Knowing what you now know will make life easier...In many ways I walk your walk with you...Hence the reason for our new walk in shower that we recently had built...But, you and I are alive...We smell the new grass in the Spring and taste the first Winter snowflakes...We live...

Now rest...Thankfully all this was realized before surgery was done...This was your reward....Oh, and yes...The distance is shorter...Kind of like a road to your house...

I send you all my love....

thankyou caroline i must admit i am exhausted i felt i was on a convyer belt while in hospital everything was done so fast and results rapid.
I couldn,t make sense of it at first as i even met my aneasthetist and last results to arive was my scan..cried so many tears but with support i have realised what a big mistake surgery would have been.

it has all been done with my own best interest in my surgeons mind and saved me from pain more severe than i have now. you have all been wonderful and where my own backbone couldn,t hold me up all the support from here and my doctor kept me strong.

bless ioka x

First, I thank that surgeon who advised u no surgery!

i request u to review my PMs stating my views!
Now you see that its correct!

see! this 'disc prolapse' is a very common disease now.its more associated with our lifestyle too!
but doing surgery is the last ..last remedy!only when there is no other way!
but we choose surgery when our doctor says...even without using the other alternatives that God granted...relying only on modern medicines!
Because that pain is Very severe! really severe!
and mostly because that Insurance companies does approve this only and
doesn't approve other alternative/conventional but less expensive treatments!

(Its their big business! LOL)

But dear Ioka, please understand that its not only this modern medicines that God Almighty has granted for curing...
apart from prayers..many other treatments and therapies too..it may be conventional or may not be proved by modern science except its result!

For Example! in our Kerala, a lot of people got this disease cured only by medicine..especially by consuming Ayurveda herbal decoctions.
some of the severe patients may hav to undergo physical therapies too. 95% of them are cured and pain free!
we do surgery when its a fatal injury happened in an accident. then no time for slow treatment!

I request you to ask ur surgeon about using traction (either by putting weight on ur legs)and try this to find whether its useful to give you solacealong with medicines. its a natural remedy!..and it helps to reduce the compression on those nerves and reduce damage and pain!

And..please dont mis understand me that i am soliciting you or people like you to have Ayurveda therapy! but i am here to inform you that too...and thats why we are in ehealth!

wishing speedy recovery..
and praying for that...
ur brother

Hi Caroline!

I am not marketing any product and hav't sought any permission for that!

Anybody can search Ayurveda in internet and
can have treatments from any Ayurveda Therapy centre near to them ,if they want!

If you don't know about Ayurveda, its not my fault!(its is not my product)

you may search and study that before making these types of comments!
Knowledge is the medicine in ayurveda to cure ignorance...
and its too not my product!

respectfully urs

Yes, "Anybody can search ayurveda on the internet and can have treatments from any Ayurveda Therapy centre near them f they want."

The real question is the safety of this approach in terms of alternative medicine and where you obtain your information.

Being that you are from Inda and not the USA, says volumes for what you are "advertising" on this forum.

Alternative treatments are one thing, but when the National Institutes of Health in the US makes the following statements about Ayurveda Therapy, it becomes quite obvious that your idea and push for Ayurveda therapy is a very dangerous suggestion, one that has the potential to kill the person that tries it.

From NIH (national institute of health

"Concerns About Ayurvedic Medications
Ayurvedic practice involves the use of medications that typically contain herbs, metals, minerals, or other materials. Health officials in India and other countries have taken steps to address some concerns about these medications. Concerns relate to toxicity, formulations, interactions, and scientific evidence.

Toxicity. Ayurvedic medications have the potential to be toxic. Many materials used in them have not been thoroughly studied in either Western or Indian research. In the United States, Ayurvedic medications are regulated as dietary supplements. As such, they are not required to meet the safety and efficacy standards for conventional medicines. An NCCAM-funded study published in 2004 found that of 70 Ayurvedic remedies purchased over-the-counter (all manufactured in South Asia), 14 contained lead, mercury, and/or arsenic at levels that could be harmful. Also in 2004, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 12 cases of lead poisoning occurring over a recent 3-year period were linked to the use of Ayurvedic medications."

Please check this link to info provided by NIH before even considering this idea. It is really not one that should be tried, the risks far out way and possible benefit, if a benefit exists.

hi, its true!
Fran!
First, i appreciate ur attempt to study those things!
It is true that many herbs that hav toxic power are used in preparing ayurvedic medicines. But we use this only as per time tested, ancient, classical(about 5000 years) formulas. if these formulas are strictly followed no danger at all.

we know anti- venoms are prepared by using toxic substamces

we know many medicines we use in America/all over world
also contains either toxic substance or metals etc.

we know contineous use of many modern medicines are harmful for our organs.

...the thing is that we should be cautious in using these. In Ayurveda also we take such precautions in every where either in manufacture or treatment!

then the next thing is that who decide the maximum or minimum of these medicinal ingredients. no doubt for ayurveda-Classical time tested Ayurveda formulas!

All medicines are dangerous if taken in a wrong way.

Do you believe that for arthritis
NSAIDS are good?-it has high gastric intolerance.
STEROIDS are good? its immuno suppressant.
DMA its expensive and not safe

then Ayurveda - a wide range of painless therapies are there apart from herbal medicines in the form of tablets and decoctions, oils etc.

most of these can be treated as food suppliments
and proved by thousands of years that they are harmless if taken properly.

i am not bothered about the comments of those who don't know anything about Ayurveda except some oneside comments against it.

Just because of opposing comments or just without my posts in ehealth nothing is going to happen to that branch of medicine that has passed by proving its formulas by thousnds of years. lol.
