Doctor
Progesterone cream won't help you to relief the side effects caused by IUD. Mirena IUD already contains progesterone that releases it. If irregular bleeding and long periods become intolerable you can remove the IUD.

What if the mirena is not producing enough progesterone?
what if the mirena is not giving you enough progesterone? What if your body is producing too much estrogen compared to progesterone?

I have read that synthetic progesterone (progestin)which is contained in coils progesterin only pills etc can reduce the natural progesterone thus making all symptoms such as pms, depression, water retention worse (this is something alot of doctors fail to tell you)

progesterone cream and mirena, pregnancy?
i have had mirena since dec.10 and was feeling very hormonal. went to talk to my doctor and she tested my blood levels and my progesterone was so low they couldn't even trace it. no wonder i was feeling so crazy she said. anyway, i'm now on a progesterone cream 1xday and i'm wondering if it decreases the efficacy of my mirena? i do not want 5 kids under 5!
