You should go to your regular doctor and have him set you up with a nutritionist to teach you how to eat healthy without starving yourself. Fad diets and diets that make you feel deprived only last so long before you just can't take it anymore. Believe it or not, to lose weight, you have to eat, but it has to be healthy things that give you the nutrition that you need. Starving yourself doesn't work. It just makes your body conserve energy and then when you eat again, it stores it up as fat in case of another starvation time. You have to eat to show your body that it's okay to break down fat because there is plenty of food. It doesn't need to store it.
In addition to eating healthy, you should also find a type of physical activity that you enjoy. Find a friend to go with so you guys can support and encourage each other. Start out slow and work your way up. You don't have to kill yourself with it, just push yourself a little each time.
Gastric Bypass is a last resort. Some people have had some really bad side-effects from it. There are alternatives to that, such as the lap-band, but you should try to lose it in a healthy, natural way first. Even if you do go for surgery, you still will have to learn how to eat properly and exercise to keep healthy and to keep the weight off.
I wish you all the best. You are fully capable of conquering this. I really do believe that.
