Me and my fiance stopped using contraception months ago. Not sure on the exact amount of months but it has been quite a long time. I've occasionally had late periods and missed periods but whenever i do a test it always comes up negative. I know it can take up to a year with some couples to actually concieve but this has been playing on my mind for a very long time now. My fiance thinks he has low sperm count which upsets us abit but we don't know for sure. Should i just wait untill 12months to see if anything happens or should we go to a doctor for some tests? I've even had symptoms of pregnancy plenty of times but im sure thats just my body tricking itself?

You should both see fertility specialists. A simple test wherein your husband's semen is tested will tell you if he's part of the problem. You will also need to be tested - they may chose to perform a hysterosalpingogram where they insert a dye into your uterus and check the flow to your ovaries through your fallopian tubes.
We waited 3 years till we finally saw the doctors and ended up doing in-vitro fertilization. We were lucky enough to have a baby boy, who is now almost 9 years old.
Good luck to you; don't wait a minute longer if you are serious about having kids.
