Confused I had a positive Mri for lesions in April, my neurologist then gave me a spinal tap and it was negative. She postponed treatment for now and moved me up to probable ms. However, my symptoms are getting worse and I am concerned about prolonging medication. What should I do?

I suggest getting another opinion. A spinal tap may not reveal the protein right away. There can be a lag time from the onset of an exacerbation to when the protein levels will elevate in the CSF. Just so you know your treatment plan with your doctor is within the standards of treatment you should get another opinion.

second opinion
Thank you, I guess I just needed somebody to tell me that. Someone who understands and is not a member of my family. I believe I will get another opinion.
