lucy315, I agree with you that the fetus is human from the moment the egg and sperm meet. Once this happens, I believe that although the mother has rights over her child, the child, as a human, still has a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happyness as defined in the American Constitution.

Things don't develop into something else unless the entire essence if it changes. It either starts out as something and remains something, or its entire essence changes.
A teen who cannot afford to raise a child can easily set up the child for adoption. And actually you can take the fertilized embryo and place it in another womb, it's called a surrogate.
I'm sorry if any of that sounded harsh, but I honestly mean no offence. This is just my opinion.
