Q: Pro-choice sayings
asked by: diamondsz on May 20th, 2009
Extremely eHealthy
I remember a post in here about how one"quote" defeated pro-choice" something like well you already born, thank go you weren't aborted anyway I wanted to know if you knew any for pro-choice.

At one point I was looking into making shirts with little sayings on them like

"I made the choice to parent, thats why I am pro-choice."
"Adoption is the gift for gay people."
"I aborted their rights so I can pay my bills!:
"I aborted the next hitler"
"abortion saved my life"
" I made a choice to take birth control"

Anyway just thought it would be interesting...

Hrm...I'll bite. "I'm prolife for myself, but prochoice for other women."

I'd still like to know what the above is supposed to mean. Isn't support of one's OWN choice the very definition of being prochoice? What does "prolife" mean to these individuals? Is it supposed to mean they'll die to carry a pregnancy to term or just that they won't abort because it's not immediately threatening to them? Never understood that. Prochoice means you're as much for your own choice as others and that choice includes carrying to term and giving birth.

"Abortions and champagne for everyone!" -

full of win. It's total satire playing on the radical interpretations put forward by prolife advocates. It's fun to see them get riled up and immediately take it seriously. They will literally kill themselves with a stroke, creaming over literal interpretations of satire. "SEEE! Those evil women DO get themselves pregnant just to abort and gloat over it!" *shakes head and laughs*

"I'm not sorry." -

Immediately translates to: "I'm pure evil and the spawn of satan because I didn't do my womanly duties and breed like a good little slave."

No woman would EVER rid herself of an unwanted pregnancy without spitting on her own reflection every day for the rest of her life, would she? That would...that would mean...she might just be more than an incubator! The horror!!!!

I'm pro-life for myself but poro-choice for other women mneans that I'd never have an abortion or that you totally disagree with abortion on principal but you don't want to make it illegal ie you don't want to force them to see thigns your way.

I risked my life to ensure my son was born healthy and gave up a lot (chocolate even- that almost drew the line! lol) to be sure he had as great a chance of being healthy as I possibly could but I would NEVER EVER want to see any woman forced to make the same decision I made, it should be her choice, my choice was right and the only decision for me. I started forming a bond with my baby when my husband told me I was pregnant (I hadn't missed a period yet or taken a test) so for me my fetus was a baby, a part of me and my husband a person, not fully formed who I loved, cared for and sacrificed for from day one. That isn't how it is for everyone no one should be forced into feeling the way I felt or pressured into feeling good or bad about being pregnant wanting to keep it or wanting an abortion.

THUS I am pro-life for me because I'd always carry to term or at least as far as I was allowed by nature but would not under any circumstances force a woman to do the same. Regardles sof whether or nto I understood her choice (see octomom/duggars and norma mccouley and others who have multiple abortions or women who have late term abortions) I still think its THEIR right to choose even if their choice is one I disagree with.
