Hemorrhoids can be primary and secondary.

Secondary hemorrhoids are the result of another disorder and they should disappear if the primary disorder is resolved. For example hemorrhoids can be often found in pregnant women but they usually disappear after the delivery. Rectal cancer can also cause hemorrhoids, so searching for hemorrhoid’s cause and its treatment should be the primary task.

Primary hemorrhoids are the result of unknown causes and they can’t disappear without treatment. Hemorrhoids are painful when they are inflamed. Inflammation can pass spontaneously but hemorrhoids will still remain. Creams and medications serve only to calm the pain. Permanent removal of the primary hemorrhoids can be achieved only with surgical removal or sclerotisation.

You could consult an abdominal surgeon or gastroenterohepatologist.
