I have been having a sharp, pricking pain just under the left ribs, since the past 3-5 years.
I mean it used to come , last for 5-8 seconds...I used to feel 3-4 pricks like this and then it would come back say after 4 months or maybe 8 months. I used to forget about it eventually.

I have started to feel it more frequently today, like I was feeling the pricks since afternoon until dinner time, so I am worried.

Let me describe the pain:
When the pain comes for those 5-8 seconds I have to press at that spot and can't stand straight, Have to bend down.It comes so suddenly and is so sharp that I double up instantly. It catches me off guard.

I have had a lot of digestive problems. Like acidity, stomach upset on and off. I was more prone to them since childhood. I also have migranes. I have suffered from amoebiosis for quite some time. Also had suffered from E-coli infection(Urinary tract infection). Gastero Entritis as well. I had stools, urine, blood checked a year and half back. They were normal too.

I have a habit of skipping lunch at times. I mean my eating habits are not that regular. I used to do night shifts for 4 years in office.
