2 Previous miscarriages and endometriosis Posted: 05-30-08 02:17am
Hi, I am a almost 33 year old who has had
PID in 2002 (was hospitalized), two
previous miscarriages (what the dr
referred to as false or empty), severe
endometriosis (have a lap every 18 months
to laser endometrial tissues), I take
Synthroid and have since 1996 (a HIGH dose
b/c they only took malignant tumor side
out and dr afraid cancer will come back if
remaining stimulates), my last lap was 19
months ago and on the 10th of May
discovered I was pregnant and confirmed
with dr on the 14th (4 weeks 6 days) - all
test come back fine - thryoid elevated, no
std(s), but placed on 200 mg of
Progesterone. Since Thursday of last week
I have had a light discharge of brown
"blood?" often with small tissue like
pieces. This is accompanied by severe off
and on stabbing pain on right ovary side,
extreme lower back pain, sometimes pain
between shoulders, and headache. My
nausea, frequent urination, and fatigue
that caused my suspicion is absent and has
been for a week now, but my stomach
appears overly "bloated". My bowels seem
fine, no problems urinating, but my boobs
are still slightly tender. I am so afraid
and don't want to call the doctor because
of the answer; I could be over reacting,
but my 42 year old husband (who recently
discovered is Hypothryoid) is so excited
and it's been 4 years since last
miscarriage - I was actually going to have
a Hysterectomy this year to keep from
repeating the laps since no oral
contraceptive have helped. I am really
concerned - but many websites, even on
this forum women have posted messages
saying brown discharge and pain is normal
- some sites say they are signs - but my
physcial exam on the 14th was extremely
painful and I have had numerous vaginal
ultrasounds in the past that I was hoping
to get further along so they wouldn't have
do do vaginal - am I miscarrying ?
ectopic? normal? another "your body thinks
you are but nothing is there other than
the placenta"? Thanks so much for your
time,

I am sooo sorry to hear about your past
miscarriages I defiantly know how it
feels. About 2 years ago I was pregnant
with twins and miscarried at 18weeks it
was so hard on myself and my family. As
for this pregnancy good luck. I would like
to share with you about my pregnancy this
time. Early on in this pregnancy for me I
had a couple of vaginal ultrasounds and
they were extremely painful even to this
day anything that is put up in my vagina
is extremely painful. I was curious so I
asked my doctor why it hurts so bad and
all he could say is that I am carrying so
low. I have recently went to the hospital
and it shocks every nurse that I come in
contact with that I am carrying sooo low.
I also have had very bad lower back pain
and pain coming right where my kidneys are
located. Which was from the way the baby
was positioned. As for brown blood I have
had that too. Brown blood I really
wouldn't be worried about from what I have
been told that is old blood. What I would
be more concerned about is bright red
blood that is flowing more than a light
period. Being a pregnant woman that has
dealt with miscarriages myself if I was
bleeding even the lightest bright red
blood I would contact my doctor
immediently. I hope this helps a little
and gives you a little piece of mind.
