So lately I've been feeling like I've contracted my 3rd UTI in a year. I asked my doctor why women get UTI's (urinary tract infections)and this is what she said. 1) having a lot of sex, 2) not having regular bowel movements, 3) non-acidic urine, etc. There's a lot of reasons really. I really don't like going to the Doctor each time I get a burning sensation down stairs and have to pee a lot. So I began looking up home remedies for UTI's. Here's what I came up with: 1) a teaspoon of baking soda in 8 oz of water (which tastes really bad by the way), 2) drinking a lot of water, 3) drinking cranberry or blueberry juice, 3) various vitamin supplements like Vitamin C, 4) hot baths followed by rinsing the area with icy water, 5) adding baking soda to your hot bath. There's a lot of different things out there. I also read about a book called UTI Report that supposedly uses three ingredients and not only treats your UTI in 12 hours, but also prevents you from getting any more.
Anyway, my whole point in writing this post is that I have a question. Most everything I researched showed that you should have safe sex, keep yourself clean, and pee after intercourse. My question is: What is the best way to keep those areas as clean as possible before, during, and after sex? Also, any other ideas about preventing/treating UTI's without seeing a doctor every time?
