I have Premature ovarian Failure and have not had a period in the last three years. I have come to terms with this over the last six years, but recently my GP put me on Metermine for weight loss, I've been taking it for 28days, and out of the blue, started a period. What does this mean? Would it have been an anovulation, or is there actually still hope for me to have a child?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
It is difficult to comment on the cause for your sudden periods and chances of getting pregnant without examining you and going ahead with further evaluation (like hormonal and blood work-up and ultrasound scan). Visit your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for further evaluation and assistance. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and investigation results) would be started to help you. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
