Okay,
I have read a lot on here and other websites about how you are fertile 14 days before you start your period. I realize "any time you have unprotected sex you can get pregnant." And I wouldn't be upset if I am. I'm just looking for some opinions/personal stories. My cycles are normally 28 days, but sometimes they'll go crazy and be late. Like right now, it's been 42 days since my last period. I thought I could be pregnant, but I took ANOTHER hpt on the 18th which came back negative. And that seriously was like my 10th test, and it should have showed positive by then. Well, then that night I had unprotected sex, and he came in me before pullling out (which he has NEVER done before--I don't know why???) I thought I should be safe though cause I was having cramps again anyways like I should be starting my period that whole day anyways, and I figured I wouldn't be fertile. But I also had cramps a while back and never started my period. Well that was Tuesday, and now it's Friday and I still haven't started my period but I'm having cramps which I know would be too early for preg cramps. I guess I don't really know when I ovulated because on a normal 28 day cycle, I'm 2 weeks late anyways! So I was wondering if anyone thought I'd have a good possibility of getting pregnant on the 18th even though I haven't had a period since Oct 11th?? Any opinions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Because your period is so crazy right now, no one is going to be able to even guess when you ovulate.

All anyone can really say is that when you have any sort of unprotected sex, then pregnancy is a definite possibility.

Are you ttc?

No, I'm not trying to conceive.... but I also would not be one who would be devastated if I found out I was pregnant... I'm 23 years old so I would think my periods would at least be consistent by now??

There could be a hormonal issue that is making it hard for things to regulate on their own.

Have you been to the gyno recently? If irregular periods are common for you then it's worth bringing up. Your gyno will likely suggest hormonal birth controls to help regulate your periods.

no I haven't been to the gyno... I will soon. I just started a new job with health insurance. I was definitely waiting for that first!

My boyfriend and I have been using the pull-out method and it's been 39 days since my last period. I am certain that I am not pregnant because I am breastfeeding and expect my cycles to be off; however, in 2007 I had a period on August 21st. I could usually tell when I ovulated. My periods varied from 27-31 days. That month I had no idea when I ovulated. According to ultrasounds, I got pregnant on September 21st(so I must've ovulated right when I was expecting my period and was absolutely certain that I would not get pregnant). I had gotten 2 negatives before I got a litlle "+" but that's because obviously I had tested too early. If your cycles are whacky, you're more likely to get pregnant when you least expect it.

Thanks for sharing care_free.... I guess right now I'm just going to have to play the waiting game and wait and see. I'm going to wait at least 2 weeks before I test because I don't think it would show up any sooner, and that puts it at December 2nd and if I don't get my period before then, I should probably ask a dr about getting them regular anyways. I really appreciate all of the information! Thanks again!
