I had a misscarriage about 3 wks ago. I had sex at the end of the whole thing(unprotected)about 2wks later i took a pregnancy test and it was positive. About a week later i went to the doctor and he put me on the shot!!what does this mean!! I dont know for sure if i was pregnant to begin with but if i was, what has this shot done? is there a possibility that i might still be pregnant?

You may have had a positive pregnancy test because of leftover hormones in your body. How far along were you in your pregnancy? Was it a confirmed miscarriage by the doctor, or did you just assume it was a miscarriage because you bled? Although rare, some women can bleed during pregnancy and maybe you are one of the few who do. Did you tell your doctor about your positive pregnancy test before he gave you the shot?

Pregnancy tests stay positive for 3-4 weeks after an abortion or miscarriage, so it sounds reasonable that your test showed up positive.

It is HIGHLY unlikely that you were actually pregnant, BUT the shot is not an abortion, and does not kill the fetus.
