Q: Pregnant and worried about miscarriage

I am pregnant, I'm going to the Doctor's today to find out how pregnant I actually am.

I have been pregnant before (4 years ago) and with another man. We had a miscarriage and then became pregnant again shortly after. I had an abortion at around 2.5 months.

I'm now finally ready and with a VERY decent man, so this pregnancy is a good thing.

I am however, pretty worrysome about miscarrying again. My Doctor in the past said that I am likely to miscarry with every new guy for the first pregnancy.

Any ideas as to how to avoid this would be greatly appreciated.

Confused I don't know why he would tell you that. That doesn't sound right to me at all.

Unfortunately you can't prevent a miscarriage. The best thing you can do right now is take care of yourself. Eat healthy, take your prenatal vitamins, and don't drink or smoke.

I had a miscarriage 4 years ago and i was told that if you miscarrie once dose not mean you will agean.

Try to avoide stress and heavy lifting. try to eat healthy and get your sleep.

I have never heard of what your Dr told you...
I m/c my first and now i just found about about my 3rd and i am scared too!
I had my daughter last year and everything was fine.
There is nothing you can do if you are going to m/c. The best thing to do is to relax and not worry. Stay away from anything that can harm the baby, the obvious ones, smoking, alcohol etc.. strong medications. Really tylenol is the only safe one.
Eat healthy and pray for that healthy baby!

I dont know why he would say that. If I were you, I'd ask him why he thinks you might miscarry again and what he can do for you. There can be ways to help prevent it, even before conceiving. Try not to worry yourself too much.

that's crazy
I think perhaps you might want to switch doctors. Some doctor's might just tell you will miscarry because they consider abortion wrong. Ask him if he is pro-life or pro-choice. But now I'm scared to tell my doctor when I do see him for the first visit because I live somewhere now where abortion is considered well against "god". Even if I was in an abusive relationship and my ex would have abused me more had I had his child. At least with the choice I was able to let him go and stop the abuse for which I am still deeply scarred.
